[[Ventoy]] creates a bootable [[USB]] flash drive, facilitating storage of [[ISO]] installation files from a multitude of [[OS]]s, to then [[BM]] install on [[PC]]s.
Instead of carrying a bootable [[USB]] flash drive for every [[OS]], you can have a single [[USB]] flash drive to install any [[OS]]. This is what [[Ventoy]] facilitates!
This guide uses [[Windows]] 10 for all [[Ventoy]] operations.

## Create [[USB]] flash drive
Insert an empty or existing [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive in the [[Windows]] 10 [[PC]].
Extract the contents of `ventoy-1.0.91-windows.zip`, in a [[Windows]] folder, and run the application <b style="color:#1e90ff; font-size: 18px;">Ventoy2Disk</b>.
![[ventoy-install-1.png]]
If the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive was never used as a [[Ventoy]] drive, just click <button style="color:#1e90ff; font-size: 18px;">Install</button>, simple as that! All data on the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive will be lost for eternity!
![[ventoy-install-2.png]]
Upon successful creation of a [[Ventoy]] flash drive, two partitions are created on that drive. The 32MB [[FAT]] partition is the boot partition of the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive. The larger [[exFAT]] partition, is the data partition, which is used to store the images of the different [[OS]]s.

If the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive was used in the past as a [[Ventoy]] drive, click <button style="color:#1e90ff; font-size: 18px;">Update</button> to preserve all stored image files, or click <button style="color:#1e90ff; font-size: 18px;">Install</button> to wipe the drive clean.

## Deploy [[USB]] flash drive
Once the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive has been created, we can copy [[OS]] [[ISO]] image files. We can then use the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive to boot a [[PC]] and [[BM]] install any of the [[OS]] image files on the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive.
We can even use the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive to boot [[KVM]]s and install [[OS]]s from the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive.
Additionally we can use the [[Ventoy]] [[USB]] flash drive to carry any other utility or software we want to use in our system installations.
